Wintry makeup ideas: Snow & Leaves
This is a really simple pop-of-color smoky eye, and you can do it with either matte or shimmery colors - I’ve shown both here. The matte beige at top and the shimmery and matte browns are all from the Too Faced Natural Eye palette, which has been a staple for me for three years now. The matte red on top is Concrete Minerals Risque. It’s gorgeous but difficult to blend, plus it stains, so I probably won’t repurchase it when I run out. Sugarpill makes a very similar matte red and their matte formula has stellar reviews. The shimmery red is My Beauty Addiction’s Poppy Red and it’s very easy to use.
I put the pale beige on the inner 2/3 of the eye and the browbone, then used a dark brown to define the outer v and blended it into the outer 1/2 of the crease. This creates a frame for the red on the outer 1/3 of the eye - pack it on and blend it into the surrounding brown and beige. use the deep brown as an eyeliner on top and bottom, keeping it close to the lashes.
alternate, bolder look - put the beige all over the lid and browbone, blend brown into crease and outer v, dampen a liner brush and do a winged eye with the red.
